How to tell and what to do about it...
But first, what the heck is and what do I mean by "toxic overload"?
Toxic overload is basically my term for a body that has been constantly exposed to external toxins and has not gotten to take a break to cleanse itself! Toxic overload can also happen if you're eating foods that you're intolerant to without even knowing it!
How can I tell if this is happening to me?!
Do you get head aches often?
Do you tend to feel lethargic during the day?
Do you have cravings for sugar or starchy foods?
Do you experience foggy brain?
Do you have allergies?
Do you feel bloated or have an upset stomach often?
If you inserted yes to any of these symptoms you could be experiencing toxic overload!
But never fear! There are simple suggestions to add to your daily routines to lower toxins in body and home.
- Eat as much organic foods as possible.
- Switch to natural non-toxic cleaners.
- Store your leftovers in glass containers.
- Give yourself 12 hours in-between you last meal of the day and the first meal of the next day.
- Drink a glass of hot lemon water first thing in the morning.
You can also try cleansing. There are a lot of cleanses out there. Some are really restrictive and and be harmful. Some are liquids only and some are more gentle and can help you identify foods that you may be intolerant to. I like to think of cleansing as a time to heal, not time to punish our bodies so we can fit into a bikini.
